A bit about us...

We want to take the stress out of finding a professional flatshare or property to rent as well as meet all of our legal obligations as a landlord. To ensure this we do a few things before we hand over the keys including full gas and electrical safety checks, a third party inventory and a professional clean. We are affiliated with several national regulatory bodies and constantly refresh our knowledge of the industry.

We carry out all mandatory safety checks as well as several that aren’t legally required; we just feel that’s best practice.

Our flatshares and properties are dotted around west London but the main areas we cover are Chiswick, Hammersmith, Fulham, Shepherds Bush and Acton.

We’ve been going since 1988. Since then we have grown to become a skilled team of 12, including 7 full time staff, running and managing a large, diverse portfolio of properties from our offices in Chiswick.

We are not a high street agent driven by commission and monthly targets; we are a landlords office directly involved with the letting and management of all of our professional flatshares and properties. Our philosophy is to keep things simple and ensure that your experience as a tenant is as hassle free as possible leaving you to enjoy both the property and living in London.

Our dedicated maintenance team of qualified plumbers, builders and electricians work to maintain and improve the portfolio. If a repair is needed you deal directly with the landlords office who can instruct the work quickly and directly; not an agent who needs to wait a day or more for a response.

Frequently asked questions

  • I've never heard of you guys before, why is that?

    We aren't a big high street agent with a slick shopfront and a fleet of liveried cars, we prefer to let our properties do the talking. Small but perfectly formed Acre have a large portfolio of high quality properties that we want filled with equally high quality tenants who will look after the property like a home. That's about it - there are no hidden costs or quirks to our letting process.

  • What fees do you charge?

    We charge a flat £100 fee before you move in. That covers your referencing, deposit protection and tenancy set-up. And that's it. No hidden fees or charges- we like to keep things simple and offer value for money.

  • I really like something I've seen, how do I arrange a viewing?

    The quickest way is to send a message through Spareroom as this will go straight to the relevant lettings team member. Or check out our Contact Us page and drop us a line.

  • Do you accept students or DSS tenants?

    Unfortunately we don't accept DSS tenants in our properties anymore. However we do have a small amount of student friendly properties which tend to come on the market in July/August. Drop us a line to be put on our waiting list.

  • Can I pop down to your offices?

    As we've got quite a busy diary, we'd rather you arrange with a member of staff if you are planning on visiting Acre HQ. However if you're passing by then by all means pop in and say hi, we're a friendly bunch!

How we got here...

  • 1988

    Acre Properties open their doors for the first time...

    The 1st property was purchased and Acre Properties was born. A small company with a dream of growth and expansion. If only that first property knew how far it was going to take Acre Properties. The seed was planted and a tiny seed can grow into a majestic tree.

  • 1995

    Buy to Let

    The first Buy-to-Let property was brought. Working with our close partnered banks we moved into the Buy-to-Let Scheme to help grow the business. This help us expand rapidly and we were able to supply many more properties to tenants around West London. We moved into areas other then Chiswick. Areas such as Hammersmith, Acton, Ealing and Shepherds Bush started to see our name.

  • 2001

    Expansion

    Expansion of the portfolio also meant more hands were needed. The team had grown and not only in-house. We needed a team of contractors for any upgrading or maintenance needs. Builders - plumbers and electricians were all hired under the Acre umbrella.

  • 2003

    Partnerships with the Boroughs.

    London Boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham - Ealing and Hounslow Council were all approached and a partnership was formed with the councils and Acre. We at Acre supply many happy DSS tenants with quality homes across the boroughs. It is a great system in helping tenants finding affordable and rent-able homes.

  • 2004

    HMO's

    We purchased our first house. We had only purchased flats and this was the first house purchased. We were moving into Houses of Multiple Occupants (HMO's). Together with the councils we had to implement extra standards to reduce the risk of fire and to make sure that people living in shared houses have adequate facilities. New experiences and challenges but all in all adding to the growth of Acre.

  • 2012

    Increasing the office

    The business continued growing and more hands were needed in-house. The large portfolio and management of the proprieties requires more attention, so much so that the adjoining property to the office was purchased and the office doubled in size along with its staff. Attention to tenants and their needs is important to us, and with a large team nothing could stop us.

  • 2013

    Renovating

    Alongside letting properties, and with the large team of contractors we moved into buying houses, renovating them to a high speck level and letting them out as HMO's to working professional tenants.   • 2018

    That extra polish

    With so much attention on refurbishing new properties and managing the tenants within our portfolio, we were loosing our own sparkle back at the office. It was time for a touch-up ourselves. The office was extended, refurbished and became not only a working environment but a stylish hub complete with a landscaped garden to relax in. The Website also had revamp and we invested more time into our marketing by introducing 360 virtual tours of our properties with the help of PEEK360 (Thanks guys). This is a great way for overseas potential tenants seeking accommodation to see our properties and almost be in them - without coming to us. Now go... take a look!
